Proposition 84 & Proposal Development Workshop
Presented by: California Council of Land Trusts & Central Valley Land Trust Council
August 22, 2007
Riverview Ranch
Fresno, CA
In 2006 November election, California voters passed Proposition 84 which will provide $5.4 billion in bonds for safe drinking water, to improve local water supply reliability, strengthen flood protection, and preserve California's natural landscapes, including parks, lakes, rivers, beaches, bays, ocean and coastline. Additional funds for land and water conservation also exist in the water, transportation and other infrastructure bonds approved at the same time.
This workshop has two parts. The first will be an in-depth look at funding opportunities in Proposition 84 and other bond acts -- their purposes, processes and when they are likely to be available. The second part will focus on developing winning proposals that meet the goals of the funding agencies.
