2008 Southeast Matching Grants Program

The Land Trust Alliance's (the Alliance) Southeast Land Trust Matching Grants Program, since 2002 has provided over 90 grants cost share grants for land trusts' organizational development and strategic conservation planning projects. The Alliance Southeastern regional programs serves member land trusts that operate within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Lousiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the southwestern portion of Virginia.

On anticipation of receiving additional financial resources, the Alliance Southeastern regional program extends its offer of matching grants-in-aid to more land trusts for 2008. We expect to be able to fund matching grants to 10-15 land trusts. See eligibility guidelines.

Purposes: Grants are awarded in 2008 for these categories of projects.

Application Deadline: None

Application Guidelines: Only one application per organization will be considered. Fill in the three page application (pages 4,5,6) and write a short Project Proposal (described on page 5); Send us one copy of the application with a Project Proposal attached. For previous Alliance grant recipients, include a Final Grant Report if not previously submitted; contact us for a standard form for that report if necessary.

Grant Period: The grant period for Projects is a maximum of 12 months from the date of award unless otherwise agreed. A Final Grant Report will be due upon completion of the project or 30 days after the completion of the grant period, whichever is first.

Notification: Grant award decisions for this cycle will be announced individually to each applicant after they are received and reviewed. No fixed date is used for such announcements.

NOTE: Under federal government requirements by the U.S. Patriot's Act, the Alliance must submit the names and addresses of key staff members (Executive Director and, if different, Grant Administrator) of applicant organizations for review and screening. Also, as part of the grant award agreement the Act required each recipient organization to sign a form certifying that it is in compliance with the U.S. Patriot Act requirements.
