designed for landowners and for appraisers unfamiliar with
easement appraisals. It also includes a section outlining
the most common errors seen in conservation easement appraisals

NRCS
has soil maps and data available online for more than 95
percent of the nation’s counties and expects that will
improve to 100 percent soon. The site is free and is
maintained as the single authoritative source of soil survey
information. This
information is critical to land trusts for baseline documentation
done for agricultural lands under conservation easement management
