There has never been a more important or opportune time to contribute to the Land Trust Alliance, the only organization that can increase the pace, quality and permanence of conservation in every community across America.
We must raise $2,400,000 in additional undesignated gifts and pledges from our community of individual supporters in order to give your community what it needs to save its most cherished places while the window of opportunity remains open.

The window for land conservation is rapidly closing. We need everyone who cares about land and land trusts actively involved in strengthening your Land Trust Alliance.

Every day, families in your community face a hard decision whether to conserve or develop their land. The choice they make can never be changed. In 2005 we convinced Congress to enact a historic tax incentive that makes conservation an affordable option for all landowners, and it doubled or even tripled the number of acres put into conservation last year! But this incentive has expired and your gift is needed right now to get Congress to revive it before it is lost forever.
- You can help your community be at the forefront of conservation.
As your community debates the fate of each remaining farm and natural area, who will be the voice for conservation and what knowledge and training can they rely on to win the fight? If you want your community to be a leader in land conservation, it cannot afford to work in isolation or reinvent the wheel. Will you help us bring 100 years of nationwide learning in conservation on-line at The Learning Center so your local land trust has the competitive advantage needed to effectively save land?

As land becomes more scarce and valuable, some will seek to develop protected places at any cost. Is your land trust prepared to single-handedly defend your community’s hard won conservation achievements? Are the investments you’ve made in land protection truly permanent?
